Easy Overnight Oats Recipe
Theres nothing quiet like grabbing a delicious overnight oats on the way to class. Probably one of the easiest and least time consuming meal prep you can imagine.
Not only is it devastating to ones mental health but also their physical health when you skip breakfast. It also affects one's ability to study, work and interact with others. Breakfast gives you the fuel you need in the morning after you have been sleeping for so long. An article on SCLHealth.org mentions, "For example, choose breakfast foods that contain a mix of carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats and fiber" (SCLhealth.org).
What you'll need:
- 1/2 cup of rolled oats
-1/2 cup milk of your choice (I prefer oat milk)
-1/3 cup greek yogurt (I prefer vanilla)
-2 tbsp chia seeds
-1 tbsp honey
-add your favorite fruit (I usually add strawberries, bananas and blueberries)
Directions:
1. mix ingredients in a bowl
2. place ingredients in a GLASS mason jar
3. refrigerate for 12+ hours (or overnight)
4. serve (portion size: 2)
PS! This meal prep hack is addicting! I can make one on a Sunday night and have breakfast for Monday and Tuesday! (TIP: this hack tastes even better on the second day so make sure to save some!)
