How To: Make a Brochure

byalexannlynn

Tips and Tricks to creating an eye-catching brochure

We have all seen or been given a brochure in our lives. The thought and planning that goes into it to make it flow and make sense are so much more than I ever expected. I learned that it can not be identical to newsletters, but needs to follow the same theme, color scheme, and overall vibe of the branding or organization you are working for.

Newsletters vs Brochures

I took the newsletters I made in the last section and reverted the themes and colors to a format that would look great as a brochure. It makes it readable and easy on the eye. I think the format flows well and is interesting to the target audience. The most obvious question I had to ask myself when making this project was, "What would make me want to flip through this brochure and read it". DUH! Reccommendations! Who doesn't love recommendations?

Making A Cohesive + Innovative Spread

It is so important to utilize the space well when creating a brochure design. Make sure the design guides the eye to the most important key elements of the brochure. This is a great place to put graphics and fun designs to draw the attention of the reader. It can be a great place to practice brand cohesivity, to ensure that all elements of a brand design point back to the organization without specifically spelling it out. While some of my designs actually say "Ulta", most of them incorporate pink, orange and makeup products of some kind that ultimately point back to Ulta.
