Stakeholders Matter
Never aim in the dark
When dealing with public relations campaigns, it is vital to ensure that you first pick out a niche target audience. Having a target audience helps narrow down what kind of content your brand will organize and produce. Having a consistent brand image shows professionalism. For example, it wouldn't be nearly as effective to distribute public relations campaigns regarding senior citizens to highschool and college aged kids.
Who influences who?
My most important target audience is the highschool and college aged kids who are prospective future students. Second to that would be the people who influence the college and high school kids the most and that would be their parents, guardians or whoever pays their tuition or bills. Every kid just wants to either grow up and be like their parent, or at least be an adult their parent would be proud of.
From beginning to end
The final draft of my mailers looked similar but not exactly like my rough drafts. I knew I would have to approach both mailers in different ways. As someone who is college age and has previously been a target for these campaigns, I can say that for something to draw my attention it would have to be pretty out there. Rather, I decided that it made the most sense to include some aspect of "student life and relationships" because this is often of utmost importance to people this age.
